The Unit approximate Square Footage Ranges are as follows (to see specific units click here):

  • Studio: 400-600 square feet
  • 1 bed: 600-750 square feet
  • 2 bed: 700-950 square feet
  • 3 bed: 800-1100 square feet
  • 4 bed: 1000+ square feet

No. Unfortunately, our current inventory is made up of multifamily apartment and townhomes units. Please check back with us time to time as our available buildings changes frequently.

The building may include:
Free WiFi, on-site laundry, building security cameras, gated entry, and controlled access.

The apartment or townhome unit may include:
Modern kitchen and bathroom, brand new appliances (stove and refrigerator) and hardwood floors (carpet is an option at select units).

Additional Amenities:
Free heat, eat-in kitchen, A/C, bonus room, porch and covered parking.

The rent includes water, garbage, and heat for some selected units. You need to pay for Gas and Electricity.

Yes, many Pangea units include heat. Please see our apartments and townhomes here for amenity information or contact us at 888-218-0080 option 2.

For a 12-Month Budget Payment Plan, you will pay around $200 per month in winter. If you stretch over 12 months, it will cost around $60-70 per month.

Yes, our apartments and townhomes are pet-friendly with the following restrictions:

Maximum number of pets:  2 Dogs and or cats
Maximum Weight per pet: 40 lbs.
Fees: $10/month. Fee will be added to your monthly payments.
Service Dogs: They are exempt from the Weight restrictions, and owner must provide detailed documentation proving their use as a service dog.

Our maximum occupancies are as follows:

  • Studio = 2 max
  • 1 bed = 3 max
  • 2 bed = 4 max
  • 3 bed = 6 max
  • 4 bed = 7 max

After your application is approved you will need to pay:

  • A non-refundable move-in fee* (1-2 bedroom = $400-700; 3-4 bedroom = $600-900)
    *Move-in fee is based on your rental application and your Pangea approval score.
  • First month’s rent (including any required pet fees)
Scheduling a Showing

Moving Date: Must be moving within the next 60 days
Rental History: Must be at least 18 years of age
Eviction History: You do NOT have an Eviction within the last 365 days
Background: You do NOT have a Felony within the last 5 years
Moving Papers: Must have access to your Moving Papers (Only applicable for section 8 renters)
Co-Signer: You have access to a co-signer (if requested by Pangea)
Income: Net income (after taxes) is two-times the monthly rent
Employment: Must be employed or have a permanent source of income

If you miss a showing you may reschedule. However, if you have missed multiple showings Pangea holds the right to deny further showing requests.

You are currently able to schedule one showing at a time.

The latest time you can schedule a showing is 5pm.

Our apartments and townhomes are shown from 9am-5pm, Monday – Friday, and 9am-12pm on Saturdays.

Yes, we accept Section 8 vouchers and many other subsidy/housing voucher programs.

Call us at 888-218-0080 option 2 if you have questions about your specific subsidy program.
When completing a Pangea rental application please have the following information handy about your voucher: Program Name, Voucher Amount, Voucher Number, Caseworker Name and Caseworker phone number.

Pangea does not directly subsidize its housing or provide affordable/low income housing.  If you are looking for information how to apply for a Section 8 Voucher visit:

Underwriting Process

Most applications are completed within 1 business day. Based on time, your property manager may offer you an instant approval option where you will know before you leave your showing.

The Pangea Application Processing team will contact you via email and or phone once they have the final decision on your rental application. This may take up to 2 business days from submission. If you have not heard from Pangea please contact us at 312-489-8118.

The Application fee costs $25.

You may submit your rental application during your showing, by dropping it off in our local offices (see local offices locations at our contact us page). You can also fax Pangea @ (847) 574-8179

Yes, we accept self-employed applicants. However, you will need to prove your income with bank statements and or tax documentation to qualify. Please bring these documents to your showing.

No. Pangea does not accept temporary income forms such as unemployment, put Illinois to Work, Food Stamps, Other Temporary Unemployment or Child Support or Alimony, etc. If you have questions on your income please contact Pangea at 888-993-1715 option 2.

Yes, we accept SSI and other permanent benefits (like: SSI, SSA, Benefits, Pensions, etc) as long as the benefits or total income you receive is 2x net income.

Pangea accepts applicants of all credit scores. We know that both good and bad credit score individuals need great housing. Depending how your application underwrites we may accept even with poor to bad credit. For more inquiries, please call 888-218-0080, option 2

No, our credit checks will not impact your credit score. Pangea does not review traditional credit bureaus like TransUnion, Equifax or Experian.

In order to identify the available units you qualify for, we may take your Income, rental history and criminal history into consideration (inclusive of all information completed on the Pangea rental application). Please see minimum rental requirements here: http://www.pangeare.com/how-rent

A co-signer is required dependent on your rental history and or length of rental history. If you have under 5 years of rental history a co-signer may be required.

If you would like a statement of specific reasons your application may have been declined, you may write in your request to our tenant approvals manager at P.O. Box 809009 Chicago IL 60680-9090 within 60 days of notice. We will respond to your statement within 30 days upon receipt.

Securing your Apartment or Townhome

Unfortunately, you will not be able to use the rental special in conjunction with the building specials. In this case, you may use the special that has a greater discount for your new apartment or townhome.

For Market Tenants - To secure your desired unit you will need to:

  • Sign your lease
  • Pay the following fees - this money goes towards your move-in fee and is non refundable;
    • As little as $50 to hold a unit for 14 days
    • As little as $100 for 30 days.

For Section 8/Subsidy applicants - To secure your desired unit you will need to do 2 of the3 of the action items below:

  • Put down money as previously defined
  • Sign lease
  • Sign moving papers

If you would like keys the same day you will need to put down your full move in fee along with your first month’s rent paid in full. Must be approved prior to signing a lease/putting down money.

In order to receive your keys you will have to submit the following information to Pangea:

  • A valid state ID, proof of income, a completed lease, first month rent, and full or remaining move-in Fee.

No, you are not required to pay a security deposit.

The move-in fee is non-refundable.

Yes, Pangea will prorate your rent. Pangea will simply divide your rent by the number of days remaining in the month. You will be responsible for your Move in Fee and the prorated rent prior to moving in.

Paying my Rent

All rent must be paid by the following options:

  • You may create a log-in account and pay your rent with your checking account on Pangea’s E-Pay system at http://www.pangeare.com/.
  • Pay rent at any local currency exchange.
  • Mail us a Money Order/Check to PANGEA REAL ESTATE - PO BOX 809009 - CHICAGO, IL 60680

Please find the closest currency exchange currency exchange. to pay your rent.
You may pay rent in a currency exchange for only $3.00.

  1. Go to the nearest currency exchange.
  2. Tell the store clerk that you would like to make a bill payment to Pangea Real Estate.
  3. Provide this information & keep your receipt. **This is NOT MoneyGram or WesternUnion.

All rent must be received by the 1st of the month and late fees are assessed starting after the 5th.

Rents received after the 5th of the month will be charged applicable late fees. Failure to pay rent on time may result in court and eviction procedures.

Apartment/Townhome Keys & Mailbox Keys

Once you pay the MIF and/or First Month Rent at our local office, you will be able to pick up your keys. Your mailbox will be set up by your Property Manager. For locations of our local offices, please check here. If you have trouble setting up your keys and mailbox, please contact our Tenant Relations Team at 888-993-1715.

Yes, you will need to pay $3 per additional key and $7 for a Key Fob. You also need to fill out a Key Order Form. To download the form, click here.

Tenant Programs

We offer many tenant benefits including the E-Pay program and Quality Tenant Referral Program. For more details, please go here. Tenants who are eligible for any benefits have to call our billing center at 888-218-0080 to verify. 

By simply introducing your friend, family or co-worker to Pangea, you are already eligible for receiving the $300 bonus reward. Make sure they mention your name when they call in or add your name to the rental application.

The reward will be applied to the tenant’s account the month after the referral pays the 1st Month Rent. If you feel that you have qualified for a refer-a-tenant fee but have not received, please contact the billing center at 888-992-1715.

You will receive your discount once you activate your E-Pay account at http://www.pangeare.com .

Qualifications:

  • Once your referral signs a lease and moves into one of Pangea’s apartments, you will become eligible to receive your referral reward.
  • Must have $0.00 balance or the discount will get the tenant to a $0.00 balance.
  •  For tenants with subsidized housing, if your monthly tenant portion is less than the discount, you will receive a max discount of 1 month tenant portion.

If you feel that you have qualified for a refer-a-tenant fee but have not received, please contact the billing center at 888-992-1715.

We may consider an upgrade for your unit under the conditions that:

  • You are in good standing
  • You have lived in the same unit for 3 years
    • You have been a tenant under Pangea management for 3 years.

If you are interested in a different unit, please follow the steps below:

  • Wait until the lease expires
  • Pay off the balance – must be in good standing to be considered for a move
  • Set up a Showing
  • Submit a new rental application
  • Sign a new Lease

Satellite Dishes are NOT ALLOWED unless they are registered with Pangea and the tenant pays a $100 installation fee. Failure to register will subject you to a $50 per month fine. (Contact Pangea at 888-218-0080 to register your satellite dish. Registration form required).
