A suburb that has a healthy mix of different types of residents, from artists and musicians, to young professionals and families, Hamilton Hills is a place that’s built on friendly diversity and a tight-knit community.
Starting in the early 1900s, the neighborhood was first established as a place for white-collar workers to live after a growth of that social class in Baltimore at the time. The suburb took off between World War I & II, especially, when the population quintupled and it became the bustling neighborhood it’s still considered today.
With such a layered history, you can still find the different period architectural styles around the streets of the neighborhood, allowing you to step into the past and appreciate the unique character houses.
In addition to the historical features hidden around the suburb, there are many attractions for the local community as well, including the Hamilton Park Shopping Center, the Chinquapin Run, the Hamilton Branch Enoch Pratt Free Library, and the Hamilton Recreation Center.
Known for its foodie scene and delicious eateries, some of the recommended restaurants in the area are Clementine (Modern American), Big Bad Wolf’s House of Barbecue (Southern BBQ), Hamilton Tavern (Pub Food), Koco’s Pub (Pub Food), Tooloulou (Cajun), and Maggie’s Farm (Modern American).
The start of fall is the perfect excuse to get out and enjoy the weather while it’s here and make lasting bonds with the local community. These are the events to know about near the Hamilton Hills neighborhood and a great way to enjoy your September.
