Soon enough the leaves will be falling and changing colors, and we’ll be enjoying all of the great things that come along with the Autumn season. Bonfires, Pumpkin Spice Lattes, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and just straight cozy vibes. It’s only right that your home matches the season. Here are some ways to transition your space from summer to fall.
Wreaths and Garlands

Set the tone right at the door with a fall wreath or garland. They look great outdoors or inside and can make your space feel inviting and charming. You can find them at most home decor stores or if you are looking for something unique, head over to Etsy and support a small business that makes them homemade.

Another way to set the fall mood is to switch your current accent pillows and throws to fall-inspired pieces. This can be done by purchasing pillows with fall sayings or just by using warm colors such as shades of orange, brown, or green. This applies to both your bedroom, and your living room! Since the temperatures are also decreasing, it’s a good time to invest in a warm and cozy throw to cuddle up with on a chilly day. Velvet, Faux Fur, and thicker fabrics will put you in the perfect fall mood.
Fall Scents

Mmmmmm the scents of fall can just warm your spirit. Swap out your summer citrus candles for something like “Sweater Weather.” (one of my fave candles at Bath and Body Works by the way). Below are some additional fragrances to consider this fall, many of which can be found in many variations at Bath and Body Works, Forvr Mood, or DW Home Candles found at Tj Maxx, Homegoods, or Marshalls.
- Pumpkin
- Cinnamon
- Pine
- Apple
- Harvest
- Sage
- Vanilla
- Fireside
- Cranberry
- Marshmallow
- Apple
Dining Table Decor
Another fun way to transition through the seasons is to decorate your dining table or even coffee tables. Dining tables are usually the central piece in an apartment or home so it’s a good way to accomplish the look you're going for. Search for a table runner or table cloth (plaid pattern is very popular during Fall), candles, faux pumpkin centerpieces or vases, or flowers (sunflowers, orange roses, marigolds, mums, pomegranate and berry accents are good for fall centerpieces). Many stores have already started putting out their fall collections, and items can also be found on Amazon.
